Henry Clay (Ship) logbook, 1845-1848.

This logbook of the merchant ship Henry Clay was kept by its captain, Ezra Nye, on the ship's maiden voyage as well as subsequent voyages between New York, Liverpool and Cork. Entries include notes on the weather. Inserted in the volume is a Commission (dated February 14, 1846) from the Governor of New Jersey to Ezra Nye as Commissioner of Pilotage as well as a portrait of Nye.
